Once I saw this car flying, burning up the tar, driving
Right through the intersection,
Red light, one way, wrong direction

Once I saw this guy fight a monster twice his size
With rolled up sleeves and balled up fists
He looked him in the eye, said this:
“Hey you, let’s go!” Then he smiled right at his girl

Would you break all the rules, would you take a black eye?
It’s quaint but true

Once I saw this boy sell his very favorite toy
But the toil and sweat didn’t mean a thing
Compared to that new diamond ring
“Oh please, say yes.” And she did.
Once I saw this girl bring a child into the world
With pain like death right to the end
Then two years passed, she smiled and said,
“Let’s try again, I don’t think I’m done.”

Once I saw this Dad give the only Son He had

Forgive them, they don’t know what they do
