This is a tribute album for my friend Ryan Cox. These are his songs... as in, he wrote them all. As a songwriter, Ryan Cox is prolific like potluck suppers are fattening in the deep south. His songs are as varied as they are numerous. His writing stretches the boundaries of strange, flippant, sweet and deep (sometimes within the same 2.5 minute pop song). Every year he writes more songs than most guys do in five and I've come to really look forward to getting my annual Ryan Cox record in the mail every Christmastime. In short, I'm a Ryan Cox fan. This is my attempt to return the favor... to send him a mixtape of sorts. These are a few of my favorite Ryan Cox tunes. I hope I got the lyrics and the chords right...
