IN NOVEMBER OF THIS YEAR I WROTE 5 NEW CHRISTMAS SONGS IN PREPARATION FOR OUR ADVENT SERVICES AT CHRIST COMMUNITY. THESE SONGS SEEMED TO HAVE SOME SIMILAR ELEMENTS AND THEMES. I SUPPOSE THE THING THAT'S BEEN ON MY HEART A LOT ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS STORY THIS YEAR IS THE WAY THAT THE CHRISTMAS STORY ISN'T JUST AN OLD STORY, IT'S THE OLDEST STORY. IT WAS THE FULFILLMENT OF A PROMISE GOD MADE TO EVE AT THE VERY BEGINNING, BACK IN GENESIS 3:15. SINCE THAT MOMENT PEOPLE WERE WAITING... WAITING FOR HUNDREDS AND THEN THOUSANDS OF YEARS FOR GOD TO KEEP ALL THOSE PROMISES ABOUT THE ONE WHO WOULD COME AND FIX ALL OUR MESSES. SONGS WERE WRITTEN ABOUT HIM AND BEDTIME STORIES WERE TOLD ABOUT HIM... WOULD HE COME? HOW AND WHEN? AND THEN HE DID. HE CAME.
