about
My little girl started 2nd grade this year and I wrote this to make her laugh since she has to go back to school every day...

CAYENNE DIANE
There’s a new girl in the second grade and her name is Diane
The one thing that she really hates is when her food is bland
So every day just about noon, right there in the lunch line,
It don’t matter what the food, you’re gonna hear her whine and whine
Pass those jalapenos, give me chilies and some cayenne
I need more of that Tobasco or my name’s not Diane
Mashed potatoes or grilled cheese or salisbury steak,
You won’t hear her asking, “please?” - she’ll say, “put it on my plate!”
You might think I’m lying but I’m telling you the truth
That girl put some pepper right in Monday’s chocolate mousse
Pass those jalapenos, give me chilies and some cayenne
I need more of that Tobasco or my name’s not Diane
Then one Thursday afternoon on Alfie Clark’s birthday
Our teacher walked into the room with a lit up birthday cake
The teacher tripped, she dropped the cake, we gasped and watcher her fall
But Diane ran, jumped up and ate the cake and candles all...
She said, “It’s a good cake, but it sure could use some spice.”
Won’t you pass those habeneros, give me kimshi and some cayenne
I need more General Tso’s or my name’s not Diane
