Parker Allen Calloway only drives on sunny days
And if it rains he always stays under the covers
It’s not that he dislikes the rain, it’s really quite hard to explain
But I would pin the whole dang thing upon his mother
See, on the 21st birthday of Mr. P.A. Calloway
A gorgeous ragtop Chevrolet was his to keep
Mother dearest told him, “Son, now go on out and have some fun,
But mess that car up and you’re done. I mean, dead meat.”

So on a semi-cloudy day, the son of Hazel Calloway
Cruised on down the motor way, and then it rained
Parker wrestled with the top, but he could not get those latches off
And the torrential downpour wouldn’t stop, Oh man, it was insane
Then a tractor-trailer lost it’s grip, it hydroplaned, began to slip,
Hit Parker’s Chevy, then it flipped and caught on fire
But that was nothing to the rage of Hazel Meadows Calloway
You should have seen her on that day, It was inspired!

Parker Allen Calloway never spoke again they say
He goes through every day afraid along as she’s alive
But if the sky’s a cloudless blue, and he has a few things left to do
Well, mostly if she tells him to, you might see him drive
