This is an Easter song I wrote for our church choir to sing on Easter Sunday morning.
lyrics
BEYOND THE GRAVE
My old life was run by fears
Steered by trouble, drenched in tears
No matter how hard I fought
I couldn’t shake my darkest thoughts
If I knew then what I know now
Hope would overwhelm those doubts, because
The grave is not the end, so I have nothing left to fear
You conquered death and sin, You are alive and with me here
My home is that forever perfect day beyond the grave
Life with You won’t guarantee
No danger, toil or suffering
You’ve overcome the world and shown
That I will never walk alone
So I’ll hold tight to this truth
And I will boldly walk with You
(CHORUS)
Lord, You gave Your perfect life
To pay my price and make me right
Walked out of Your grave, alive
Promised to stay by my side
So, no matter what I face
I don’t have to be afraid
Every trouble, every pain
Will disappear beyond the grave
(CHORUS)
